iLL Manors: TEDx Lecture

The opportunities for young people are limited which inspired Plan B to create iLL Manors in order to show everyone what is evolving around these individuals lives that has involved them into being so isolated.

Plan B believes heavily in equality between young people. He believes that all young people deserve motivation in order to pursue in life rather than moving backwards. Plan B briefly spoke about an incident that occurred while he was filming iLL Manors. He explains how a group of Asians approached him and told him to move from what they call their 'turf'. Plan B showed us and told us about how he tends to stand his ground. Another group approached them after this and told Plan B that he can carry on filming. Ben Drew later told an newspaper company what happened and this newspaper company chose to miss out the part where the other youths approach him and tell him to continue filming. Newspaper companies are known for demonising youths using loads of techniques that seem to only focus on the negative side of teenagers. This co-relates to Cohen's theory of Moral Panics as the newspaper chose to only violently portray teenagers.

Plan B's lecture is presented in-front of an audience that he believes can help and acknowledge the issue occurring. He wants to inform these adults about the lack of motivation and determination that these individuals have. The adults that this lecture is presented to are of the social class ABC1 and the psychographic group of reformers. This is because the audience tend to seek enlightenment in their knowledge and personal growth. The audience of the music video and film are the opposite of what they seem.
