ILL Manors Trailer Analysis

1.
The iLL Manors trailer consists of many enigma codes such as guns being put to peoples heads etc. This immediately leaves members of the audience feeling curious in what will be following up. Also the trailer consists of many reviews. These reviews sum up how the movie is to different corporations such as Q Magazine, Time Out and Men's health. The diverseness of the corporations suggests to the audience that this movie is also for a range of audiences suggesting that everyone will enjoy seeing the dark side of the ghetto.

2.
In this decade, films are distributed through many key ways in order to target the best audience. Some of them include showing the trailers in cinemas before movies that are of the same genre or are targeted at the same audience.

3.
While the trailer is playing Plan B does a voice over telling us how he's gonna take us through time and tell us about this dark story. After this music begins to play at a fast pace as the clips flick through quickly. The movie reinforces the pace of the trailer.

4.
The movie 'iLL Manors' is targeted towards young adults aged at roughly 16-25. This is because the audiences between these ages would be the same ages as the main characters in the movie. These individuals would watch this movie and see how different or similar their lives are to these characters. As well as this the editing would be another factor in the trailer that shows us that trailer is significantly directed at young adults. The fast pace and enthusiastic quick cut transition changes also reinforces that. When compared to a movie aimed at families the trailers would include music of a slow pace, good and happy moments and slow transition changes as a pose to the 'iLL Manors' which has a much different target audience with a much different trailer.

Also within the clips, the director chooses to signs and symbols of Barthes' theory such as objects which release curiosity and maybe misconception. These could include guns, bloody knives etc. which engage the audience into wanting to know what is about to follow up.
